MEET HAMMER & CHEW: LORDS OF JUNK, A NEW ORIGINAL SERIES PREMIERING JANUARY 7 ON CMT CANADA
(December 6, 2011 – Toronto, Canada) This January, Corus Entertainment’s CMT (Canada) presents the premiere of Hammer & Chew: Lords of Junk, a reality series about an unlikely pair of hard-working buddies and their daily escapades hauling and sorting through trash. Produced by Peace Point Entertainment Group, in association with CMT (Canada), the series premieres Saturday, January 7 at 10 p.m. ET.
“The adage that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure is perhaps more true now than ever before. Audiences will soon realize, however, that Hammer & Chew isn’t just about finding loot in a pile of litter. Every episode is a wildly entertaining ride with two very funny guys who, despite their differences and unpleasant tasks, manage to make every day an adventure. CMT audiences are in for a treat.” said Vibika Bianchi, Vice President, Original Programming, Lifestyle, Reality, Factual Entertainment, Corus Entertainment.
Hammer & Chew: Lords of Junk follows the adventures of John “The Hammer” Netherway, a former bouncer and classically trained pianist who has no patience for mistakes, and his unlikely partner, Chris Chew, a charming rambler who gets himself into shenanigans wherever he goes. As junk removers, every day is an adventure in trash, with the possibility of treasure always within reach. Hammer and Chew never know what they’re in for when they find out what lays behind the closed doors of curious characters.
“We are delighted that this wonderfully fun and quirky series, Hammer & Chew, will premiere on CMT. Hammer and Chew have taken the seemingly mundane practicality of removing unwanted stuff and turned it into compelling TV,” commented Les Tomlin, President Peace Point Entertainment Group.
“Every day is unpredictable in our business and we felt it would be great entertainment for viewers to go on a joyride with two of our junk removers, Hammer and Chew,” said Mike Thorne, Founder and President of JustJunk.com
Hammer & Chew: Lords of Junk airs Saturdays at 10:00 p.m. on CMT.
