Peace Point Rights announces slate for Natpe Budapest including new film catalogue

Toronto, Canada – June 18, 2013 – Peace Point Rights announces its programming slate for Natpe Budapest 2013 including a new Film catalogue of over 40 titles to complement its Lifestyle/Factual and Sports catalogues. Factual/sports series include Frontier Vets (13 x 30′), Mercenaries (6 x 60’), The Bulloch Family Ranch (7 x 60’) and Sando (6 x 60’). Feature film titles include Belle Du Seigneur (Feature: 1 x 97’, Mini Series: 3 x 45’), Donovan’s Echo (Feature: 1 x 95’), Locked In (Feature: 1 x 85’) and The Giant Mechanical Man (Feature: 1 x 94’).

Frontier Vets (13 x 30′) Eight final year vet students from around the world embark on a journey of professional and personal self-discovery over thirteen episodes as they take on the responsibility of running an animal clinic in a remote community surrounded by the Kruger National Park.

Mercenaries (6 x 60’) Introduced and narrated by Sean Bean, Mercenaries offers unprecedented access to today’s soldiers of fortune, from far-flung frontlines to their homes, where they explain their motivations, fears and hopes. Whether reviled as hired guns who operate outside the law, or praised as those who go where others fear to tread to protect the weak, the world of the mercenary soldier is big business. Is there room for honour and compassion, or is it simply the money?

The Bulloch Family Ranch (7 x 60’) Julie and Rusty Bulloch are the proud parents of two biological kids and over 25 non-biological kids. The Bulloch’s open their hearts and home to help 25+ ‘street’ kids to build better futures for themselves. The Bulloch’s give everything they have to give young adults teetering on the brink of self-destruction – and often last chance – of building a better tomorrow.

Sando (6 x 60’) From the blood-stained battlefields to the Dodecagon, the ancient Japanese martial art, “San Do,” pitted three men in one ring with every combatant fighting for survival. Never has this technique been used in modern competition….until now. Three Men will enter the ring; only one will emerge victorious. Sando has arrived and mixed martial arts will never be the same!

Belle Du Seigneur (Feature: 1 x 97’, Mini Series: 3 x 45’) This tragic love story based on Albert Cohen’s literary masterpiece is about the doomed love affair between Solal (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), a handsome Mediterranean Jew who rose from his exotic origins in the Greek island of Cephalonia to become Under-Secretary-General of the League of Nations; and Ariane Deume (supermodel Natalia Vodianova), wife of one of his subordinates, a beautiful Genevoise aristocrat who has married beneath her.

Donovan’s Echo (Feature: 1 x 95’) Can his past save her from the future? Once a brilliant mathematician, Donovan Matheson (Danny Glover) has been an outcast since an accident that killed his wife and daughter three decades ago – for which he blames himself. He finally returns home and begins discovering similarities to what had happened to him in the past. Convinced history is repeating itself, Donovan risks everything to save an unsuspecting family from the same tragic fate.

Locked In (Feature: 1 x 85’) Second Chances Don’t Come Easy. Josh (Ben Barnes) leaves his advertising career at its peak, everyone wants either to be him or to have him. A car accident will leave his daughter in a strange coma and when everyone has given up, she starts communicating with him – or is he going mad?

The Giant Mechanical Man (Feature: 1 x 94’) Janice (Jenna Fischer) is out of work and living with her well-intentioned but overbearing sister Jill, struggling to build a fulfilling life for herself. Tim (Chris Messina) is a street performer whose talents as a “living statue” don’t exactly pay the bills. As they get to know each other, Janice begins to feel that she has met the man who could make her happy, but Jill’s meddling ways threaten to undermine Janice’s first real shot at love.
